Still Here is a safety check-in app for iOS. You can contact us at hello@still-here.io with any questions about this privacy policy.

What data we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to provide the Still Here service:

  • Account details: Your name and email address, so you can create and access your account.
  • Contact phone numbers: The phone numbers of people you choose to notify if you miss a check-in.
  • Check-in records: The dates and times when you complete a check-in, so we can determine whether you've checked in within your chosen time window.

We do not collect location data, health information, browsing history, app usage data, or any other personal information beyond what is listed above.

Why we collect it

We collect this data on the basis of (i) your consent (you choose to provide it when you create an account) and (ii) our legitimate interest in providing a safe, reliable daily check-in service.

How we store it

Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard encryption. Access is restricted to authorised team members only, and we maintain strict security protocols to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure.

SMS delivery

When you miss a check-in, we send an SMS alert to your emergency contacts using a third-party SMS provider. This provider processes your contacts' phone numbers only to deliver the message, and does not retain or use this data for any other purpose.

Your rights under UK GDPR

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your data (subject to certain exceptions).
  • Portability: Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Object: Object to processing of your data on certain grounds.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.

Children's data

Still Here is not designed for or directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
